"The Creek" is greatly blessed to have a group of senior adults that we lovingly call our Senior Saints. This group of adults, many of whom are long-time members of Trace Creek, are the backbone of our church. They are our parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and friends who we have known almost all of our lives. They have lived exemplary, God-honoring lives that we strive to duplicate for the sake of our children. We thank God for such a group of examples.
The Senior Saints are a busy group. To see what they are up to, visit the Current Events page to view a calendar of activities for the current month and the next two months.
MONTHLY OUTINGS - Our Senior Saints, who are mainly adults of retirement age, usually go on an outing the third Thursday of each month. This day out may consist of a shopping trip or a jaunt to Paducah to view the murals or something similar. One thing is for sure, we are going to eat somewhere! There is nothing like the fellowship of eating together, whether it is here, there, or somewhere in between. It is just about being together and enjoying one another's company. Please feel free to join us, that is, if you can keep up!
FELLOWSHIPS - Once or twice each year, a group of couples within the church gets together and cooks a meal for our "Over 55" group. This is open to the entire church and is usually held immediately following a Sunday morning worship service. These couples prepare a fantastic meal and all that is required to enjoy it is that the participants be 55 years of age or better and that they sign-up at the appropriate time and place to ensure that there will be plenty of food and fixings. We appreciate this committed group that prepares these meals.
TRIPS - In the fall of 2003, the church sponsored a three-day trip to Branson, Missouri for our Senior Saints. We took 58 individuals to three shows including the Dixie Stampede, which everyone seemed to enjoy. We are hoping to make this an annual event, whereby we take our Senior Saints on a reasonably-priced overnight vacation-type trip.
