Music Ministry

The word of God makes it very clear, "God inhabits the praises of His people!"  And so, may our worship and praise be pleasing unto Him.  He is our audience and truly knowing Him is our ultimate goal.  That is our passion in the Music/Drama Ministry, and we invite you to join us!  We are committed to growing our hearts toward God and, by example, teaching our congregation the importance of worshipping the Father in truth and in spirit.  If you have an interest in music or drama and feel that this is the place where God would have you invest your time and talent, please feel free to join us.  Bro. Mike is always looking for new recruits.  Whatever your skill level, we are looking for committed Christians who want to put Jesus first in their praises.  Join us as we exalt His name together!

WORSHIP CHOIR - Our worship choir is comprised of non-professional volunteers who love the Lord and enjoy praising Him through song.  They sing four-part harmony with varied styles of music, from contemporary to southern gospel, and everything in between.  There are no auditions for this choir.  They sing in the Sunday morning and evening worship services, as well as for special occasions.  They rehearse on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 until 6:00.  This group is led by Bro. Mike Reed and Kathy Copeland on piano.

PRAISE ENSEMBLE - This group is normally utilized to bring the congregation into worship.  We also use these singers as back-up on certain songs when needed.  These are auditioned parts.  Our praise ensemble is comprised of six women and four men who rehearse on Wednesday evenings between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.

ADULT PRAISE BAND - Our praise band currently consists of piano, organ, keyboard, bass guitar, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and drums.  Bongo and flutophone are sometimes added, as well as other instruments as needed.  This group rehearses on Wednesday evenings immediately following the worship service.

YOUTH CHOIR - The youth choir is comprised of junior high and high school-aged students who rehearse on Sunday afternoons from 5:00 until 6:00.  The group sings on Wednesday evenings during youth worship in "The Hook."  The youth choir is led by Cori Allred and Justin Carrico.

YOUTH PRAISE BAND - Currently our youth praise worship is led by a group called Diaspora.  They lead our youth on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. in "The Hook."  This group of Trace Creek young people formed a praise and worship band which has expanded into a traveling music ministry.  To find out more about Diaspora, visit their web site at www.dia-spora.com.

CHILDREN'S CHOIR - Our elementary children's choir is still under construction and we are looking forward to this group being active with music and drama in the future.

PRESCHOOL CHOIR - Our preschool choir is important to us.  Paula Roberts and Christy Bryant help these children experience the love of Christ through singing and playing instruments.  This group is coordinated through the Children's Ministry and meets in the adult choir room during the Sunday morning worship service.

Drama Ministry

SEASONAL PLAYS
Easter - Trace Creek is blessed to have a strong background in musical drama.  This is evident when Easter comes around each year and we begin preparing for another year of "The Promise."  This passion play began in Texas and moved its way to Branson, Missouri, where thousands upon thousands were able to view this outstanding pageant on the life of Jesus Christ.  We at "The Creek" were able to obtain the rights to perform this play in the local church setting.  We began this annual production in 2000.  We see individuals saved each year through the performances and, sometimes, even the rehearsals.  We have at least five presentations each year and have an average attendance of 700 each night of production.

Christmas - As we strive to keep our Easter presentation on the sacred level, we are a little more flexible during our Christmas productions.  In the past, we have performed two original church-written scripts of Andy Griffith and Mayberry story plots that each had a strong evangelistic story background.  We use our adult choir, church cast, and any other volunteers to perform these plays.  Our youth also help us out during Christmas some years with an original "Creek" version of "A Christmas Carol."  There is nothing quite like seeing Otis Campbell, Ernest T. Bass, or Ebenezer Scrooge coming to the Lord.  We keep the focus on Jesus as the main thing.  If it's not about Him, why do it!

YOUTH DRAMA
Acts of Calvary - This group of young people meets on Wednesday evenings at 5:00.  They learn and perform original skits and scripts which have a Christian backdrop and meaning.  They perform during youth and adult worship services, as well as at our annual youth camp.  They are also a traveling group, available for various church functions or meetings.
