MISSIONS

"For God so loved THE WORLD that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

These words spoken by Jesus are the motivation for us to love others and to share with them the love of Christ. Missions is sharing that love with as many people as possible in our community and throughout the world. Therefore, our church is excited about supporting several missions opportunities.

Sunrise Children's Services

Through the KBC Cooperative Program, we support Sunrise Children's Services which is a faith-based non-profit agency that cares for children and youth who have fallen victim to abuse or neglect. Each year in Kentucky, more than 72,000 reports are filed of children being physically, mentally or sexually abused. Fortunately, many of these children find refuge with Sunrise Children's Services.

Sunrise operates 10 residential treatment facilities and therapeutic foster care homes throughout the state of Kentucky, as well as a crisis stabilization unit in Danville, a youth support center in London, and IMPACT Plus case management and service coordination for Medicaid-eligible children in western and central Kentucky. Through these programs, nearly 400 children are served each day. Adoption services and family counseling are also available. As a faith-based agency, Sunrise believes in treating the whole child - body and spirit - so they can grow up to break the cycle of abuse and become productive citizens.

Please take some time to browse their website and learn about this ministry. If you have any questions, contact them at 800.456.386 or info@sunrise.org.
